About the Artist
Life is so beautiful when we see the fullness of all that has been created for us...why not paint it?
"Capturing light...displaying glory!
Working most recently in oils, Susan loves to display the handiwork of God in all that surrounds her. She spent much of her life enjoying all of the beauty surrounding her outdoors whenever she had opportunity. Camping, hiking, horseback riding, walking on the beach, viewing the river streaming after the melting of the snow, watching a sunset, rides in the country, are all memories that have ignited her passion for her painting life today.
She is fascinated with the ever changing effects of the endless array color, light, and atmospheric perspective and the challenges they bring in applying them to the canvas. Over the past 15 years she spent time with colored pencil drawings, sketching, pen & ink, watercolor and acrylic, but for the recent five years has discovered the wonders of working with oils. She spends time painting outdoors "plein air" to do her main studies and back to the studio for refinement or larger paintings.
Her passion is to capture as much of nature and life around her as possible and to offer others the opporunity to enjoy what may touch their own hearts through her work.
